- Can I homeschool more than 1 child?
- I homeschooled my 2 boys when they were at younger age (8 and 4 yo). When my elder boy grows older (>8 yo), he seemed to lost interest on what his little brother is doing. Thus, I gradually focus at my younger boy while my elder boy attends to school
- Sometime It is more flexible with 2 children in the class as I can ask one of them to follow my lesson when the other one simply ignores me. But on the negative side, they both might gang up n urge me to speed up my lesson, or worse, fight/play together
- Can I homeschool my children if I am not a fulltime mother?
- I heard some parents might still able to homeschool their children while they are at work but personally I have zero experience on it
- Anyhow, you can still homeschool your children over the weekend. As homeschooling is not purely books-oriented, you can start with doing some planned activities at home instead of shopping in the mall or playing iPad over the weekends. I guarantee that the family bonding will increase tremendously. Plus, your children would be more contented and creative. Visit my Activities Page for more ideas
- What if my child doesn’t want to be homeschooled?
- What? What do you mean by my child doesn’t like homeschooling? Where else on earth could you find a place where the child can learn at their own pace at their own interest? Let me assure you that it is going to happen irregardless of your syllabus. My advice is, just let him/her take the break he/she requested
- My little son once requested to stop homeschool and he received a long lecture from my elder son about how horrible public school syllabus is compared to homeschool. Anyway, I let him take a break. During the 1-week break, he chose to do what he likes to do – playing lego, story telling or doodling…he lead and I followed. After the 1-week break, my son asked me what to do today and I told him that he is suppose to tell me as he asked for homeschool break. He immediately said that he doesn’t want homeschool break anymore. He wants to start a new homeschool topic – either human body or insect. No more holidays for me 🙁
- Is homeschool child weak at socialising?
- I can’t give a conclusive comment on this part as I am still observing and studying my little boy’s behaviour in the public and interaction with the other human being
- One thing I must admit is my little boy seems to be very clingy to me
- Anyhow, he gave me surprises at times. For instance, he gave fèedback to his art class teacher so she does not focus at only drawing, but to conduct other activities like story telling and crafts. He also questioned the teacher whether they will learn solar system and dinosaur in their monthly theme. Who said home school boy can’t socialise? His elder brother won’t be saying this to his class teacher
- Do I need to send my homeschool child to any enrichment class?
- Why I don’t see a single book of “Learning Alphabets” and “Learning Numbers” in your blog?
