Session 1. Book Exploring – Bugs Dictionary

24/6
When I told Kin about the “wolf spider” carrying their eggs, Kin assured me that we came across this spider in Bugs Dictionary. And he was right!
Session 2. Video Learning – Trapdoor Spider
Watched some video clips on how trapdoor spider hunt their prey by hiding in an underground burrow with a silk lid, when it senses that prey is nearby, it flips open the lid and pounces.

Kin asked whether trapdoor spider is poisonous.
“The bite of the Trapdoor Spider is of low risk (non toxic) to humans. It is a non-aggressive spider and is usually timid, however it may stand up and present its fangs if harassed. Trapdoor Spiders rarely bite, however, if they do so, it can be very painful.”

Session 3. Insect Observation – House Spider
In noon, Kin caught a spider with the help of his brother. He put 4 dead ants in the container as spider’s food.
On the following day, Kin told me the spider had eaten 1 out of 4 dead ants fed. He also noticed that the spider had built the spider web as it could hang upside down. Good observation!
On third day, Kin told me that the spider had escaped from the container.
